Madrasah Education Board permanently banned a Narsingdi teacher from all board activities and revoked his examiner duties after he allegedly had his students grade Alim exam scripts.
Ministry of Education confirmed the matter in an official statement released on Thursday morning.
The accused teacher, Md Nasir Uddin, serves as an assistant professor of Islamic History at the Gadairchar Asia Islamia Alim Madrasah in Madhabdi, Narsingdi.
The action came after a viral video showed Nasir handing Alim exam papers to his students for grading.
The video caught the attention of the Education Minister ANM Ehsanul Hoque Milon and he ordered the authorities to take action.
Deputy Controller of Examinations of Madrasah Education Board filed a case against Nasir on Wednesday. The board lodged the lawsuit at the Madhabdi Police Station under the Public Examinations (Offences) Act, 1980.
