Full-strength Bangladesh in Asian Games, Litton named captain

The 20th edition of the Asian Games is set to take place in Japan, and Bangladesh will be participating in the cricket event of the tournament. The BCB has announced a 15-member squad for the Asian Games, with Litton Das appointed as captain.
The cricket event of the Asian Games will be held in the small town of Nishin, east of Nagoya, Japan. The venue is Korogi Sports Park. Just a few months ago, it was a baseball field; it was converted into a cricket-ready facility last March.
Injured pacer Nahid Rana did not find a place in the squad. Another pacer, Taskin Ahmed, is also absent from the team.
Bangladesh won a bronze medal in the previous edition of the Asian Games. They had lost to India in the semi-finals. However, they defeated Pakistan in the third-place playoff to bring home the bronze medal.
The cricket event will begin on September 24. Six teams, divided into two groups, will play in the first round. From there, four teams will advance to the qualifiers. Bangladesh's match will be on September 28. Litton's side will take on the champions of Group 'B' in the second qualifier at 2:00 PM.
This year's Asian Games men's cricket event will be held from September 24 to October 1. India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka will start their journey from the knockout stage.
Like the men's event, the women's cricket event will also be held at Korogi Sports Park. The women's cricket event will run from September 17 to 22.
