BMD warns of storms, rain in 6 regions

Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) said storms may hit six regions of the country by noon, with a rain forecast for Dhaka.
According to the weather forecast issued for the six hours starting at 7 am on Wednesday, the sky over Dhaka may remain partly cloudy to temporarily cloudy. Rain or thundershowers may occur by noon. Winds may blow from the south or southwest at 10-15 kilometers per hour, while the daytime temperature may increase slightly.
At 6 am, the recorded temperature in Dhaka was 26.4 degrees Celsius, with air humidity standing at 95 percent. Dhaka received 21 millimeters of rainfall over the last 24 hours.
Meanwhile, the weather forecast for domestic river ports from 5 am to 1 pm added that temporary gusty or squally winds with speeds of 45 to 60 kilometers per hour from the south or southeast, accompanied by rain or thundershowers, may sweep over Khulna, Barishal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Chattogram, and Cox’s Bazar.
BMD have advised the river ports in these regions to hoist cautionary signal number 1.
