Ambassador of Iran to Bangladesh Jalil Rahimi Jahanabadi paid a courtesy call on State Minister of Foreign Affairs Humaiun Kobir on Wednesday.
Minister of Foreign Affairs confirmed the matter on its Facebook page. During the meeting, they discussed various issues of mutual interest.
Humaiun expressed hope for an end to regional tensions and the establishment of peace and stability in the interest of the people of the Middle East region and beyond.
On 28 February, Israel and the United States launched a joint attack on Iran. On the first day of the attack, the country’s former Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and many other top leaders were killed.
Iran then launched counter-attacks on Israel and US bases located in the Middle East. Attacks also targeted Gulf countries hosting US bases. Over the last six months, intermittent attacks and counter-attacks have been ongoing between US and Iran.
Although the presidents of both nations signed a ceasefire agreement in June, it did not remain permanent.
