The farmer named Kabir Hossain from Tangail who went viral after receiving a farmer card from the prime minister, died of a heart attack just one day after posting a message on Facebook that read, “This is my last video.”
His death has sparked widespread discussion in the local community because of the message he shared shortly before passing away.
According to family members and local sources, Kabir suffered a heart attack at his home on Tuesday night and died shortly afterward.
Funeral prayers were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the North Tartia Madrasa Field in Tangail Sadar Upazila. He was later buried at the Tartia Central Cemetery.
A day before his death, Kabir posted on his Facebook account: “After today’s live session, this person in the picture will no longer be found.” At the same time, he uploaded a video, describing it as his final video message.
Speaking after the funeral, Mir Farhad Ali, vice president of the Sadar Thana unit of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), said Kabir had undergone an ECG test at a hospital the day before his death. Before leaving for treatment, he reportedly sought forgiveness from his mother and wife for any mistakes he had made during his life.
Before the funeral, State Minister for Fisheries and Livestock Sultan Salauddin Tuku spoke virtually with members of Kabir’s family. He expressed deep condolences and prayed for the eternal peace of Kabir Hossain’s soul.
Among those attending the funeral were Upazila BNP President Azgar Ali, Vice President Mir Farhad Ali, former Tangail District BNP Organizing Secretary Shafiqul Rahman Khan, officials from the Department of Agricultural Extension, local public representatives and residents from various walks of life.
