Police arrested Navana Group’s Vice Chairman Sajedul Islam on Wednesday from his residence in Banani, Dhaka.

Tejgaon Industrial Area Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mahbubur Rahman confirmed the matter and said an arrest warrant was pending against Sajedul Islam.

However, the details of the allegations are not mentioned in the warrant. Following his arrest, police sent Sajedul to court.

Tejgaon Industrial Area Police Station Inspector (Operations) Abdullah Al Mamun added that the warrant stems from a case filed under Labor Law. According to police, Sajedul had been hiding in a building in Banani.

On Tuesday, a joint team from Tejgaon Industrial Area and Banani Police Station conducted a raid in Banani, but the initial attempt was unsuccessful.

Abdullah added that Sajedul did not leave his residence throughout the night and made various attempts to evade arrest. Despite these efforts, police successfully took him into custody.
