The Border Security Force (BSF) of India attempted to push nine individuals, including men, women, and children, into Bangladesh through the Sapahar border in Naogaon. However, due to the immediate alertness of the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), they could not enter the country. Currently, those individuals are staying at the zero-line of the border between the two countries.
The incident took place around dawn today, Wednesday, near the 244/MP border pillar area of the Adatala border in the upazila.
According to a press release sent by the BGB-16 Naogaon Battalion, members of the Allenpur camp under India's 29 BSF Battalion tried to push the nine individuals toward Bangladesh. Upon learning of the matter, a patrol team from the Adatala BOP quickly reached the spot, identified them, and prevented them from entering Bangladeshi territory.
The BGB stated that the nine individuals include three men, three women, and three children. They are currently positioned at the zero-line area inside the Indian border.
Lieutenant Colonel Mohammad Ariful Islam Masum, commanding officer of the Naogaon BGB Battalion, told Agamir Somoy that patrol has been intensified in the border area following the incident. No one will be allowed to enter Bangladesh illegally.
