Iran has announced the closure of the Strait of Hormuz for all maritime traffic, following Israeli strikes in southern Lebanon.
The decision was declared on Saturday by Iran’s central military command.
Tehran described the attack as a clear violation of its agreement with the United States.
In a statement broadcast on Iranian state television, the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters said, “The Strait of Hormuz will remain closed for all shipping activity. This initial measure is primarily a response to the enemy’s breach of commitments. If the aggression continues, further steps will be planned and implemented to contain the enemy within its limits.”
