The Bangladesh Jewelers Association (BAJUS) has decided to reduce gold prices in the domestic market once again. This time, the association has set the price of 22-carat gold per bhori (11.664 grams) at Tk 2,26,340 including VAT, a reduction of Tk 2,216 per bhori.
The association announced this in a notice on Saturday (June 20) morning. The new prices will took effect from 10:00 AM today.
The notice said the price of pure gold (tejabi gold) has decreased in the local market. Considering the overall situation, the new gold prices including VAT have been set accordingly.
Under the new rates, the price of 22-carat gold per bhori including VAT will be Tk 2,26,339. Additionally, 21-carat gold per bhori has been fixed at Tk 2,16,192, 18-carat gold at Tk 1,85,691, and traditional (old method) gold at Tk 1,51,690.
BAJUS said that these prices will remain effective at all jewelry establishments until further notice. However, making charges will apply according to the design of the ornaments. Since VAT is included in the selling price of gold ornaments, no separate VAT can be collected from customers. Furthermore, the association's previous rules will remain in place for exchanging and purchasing ornaments, excluding specific VAT, making charges, and stones.
