Broiler chicken Tk150 per kg, eggs Tk 110 per dozen

In the capital's essential commodity market, each kilogram of broiler chicken is selling at Tk 150 to 160. And, eggs are available at Tk 110 per dozen. These are prices of lean proteins on Friday as Agamir Somoy correspondent foun d them after visiting various markets in the capital.
After visitingf Karwan Bazar, Magbazar, and Mohakhali kitchen markets in the capital it was found that per kg broiler chicken was being sold at Tk 150-160, and Sonali chicken at Tk 320 per kg. Meanwhile, the price of eggs per dozen ranged between Tk 110-120.
On the other hand, a visit to the fish market showed that per kg pangas (a variety of catfish) is selling at Tk 180-200, tilapia (varying by live or dead) at Tk 200-223, ruhi at Tk 260-350, and mrigal carp at Tk 250-300.
Additionally, native tengra (small cat fish) is Tk 600 per kg, baim Tk 600-800, pabda Tk 350, koi Tk 400-500, shing Tk 400, poa Tk 260, shol Tk 700, and taki Tk 400 per kg.
However, shrimp prices were seen to be somewhat higher; depending on size and variety, each kilogram costs Tk 550-900.
In the vegetable market, most vegetables are priced between Tk 50 and 80. Only a handful of vegetables are selling at higher prices than this. Bottle gourd is Tk 50-60 per piece, potatoes Tk 25 per kg, and coriander leaves Tk 10 per bunch.
Besides, bitter gourd is Tk 70 per kg, yardlong beans Tk 60, radish Tk 50, ridge gourd Tk 60, and snake gourd Tk 50. Per kg papaya is Tk 40-50, carrots Tk 100-120, taro corms Tk 50, parwal Tk 60, and kakrol (spiny gourd) Tk 60-70 per kg.
In the market, larger lemons are being sold at Tk 20 per set of four, and small lemons are available at Tk 10. Both round and long varieties of eggplant are Tk 60 per kg, cucumber is Tk 50 and green chilies are selling at Tk 60-80 per kg, respectively.
