Michelle Obama was delivering a speech at the inauguration ceremony of the Obama Presidential Center, and listening to her words, former US President Barack Obama became overwhelmed with emotion. He was seen wiping away tears as his wife spoke about his achievements as president.
The Obama Presidential Center officially opened in Chicago on Thursday. The inauguration ceremony was attended by former Presidents Joe Biden, Bill Clinton, and George W. Bush. However, current President Donald Trump was not invited.
Former First Lady Michelle Obama addressed the event. She praised Obama's accomplishments as president, particularly in the healthcare sector and his Nobel Peace Prize win. At that moment, Obama was seen wiping tears from his eyes.
Michelle Obama said, "Barack, look at me." At this, laughter rippled through the audience. She added, "For eight years, through all the tough tests, you never once broke under pressure."
Noting that her husband had worked for the people, she highlighted Obama's economy, his leadership in the operation that killed Osama bin Laden, his healthcare reforms, and his Nobel Peace Prize achievement.
She also mentioned that as the first African-American president of the United States, Barack Obama was held to "a higher standard."
