Death toll in Nepal exceeds 350

The death toll from the devastating floods on Wednesday in Nepal has risen to 359. Police said these bodies were recovered from eight districts until 5 pm on Thursday. Nepal Police spokesperson Abhi Narayan Kafle confirmed the number.
According to the latest figures, 17 bodies were recovered from Rasuwa, 28 from Nuwakot, 33 from Dhading, 132 from Chitwan, 30 from Gorkha, 22 from Tanahun, 82 from East Nawalparasi, and 15 from West Nawalparasi.
Police and other security personnel are continuing search and rescue operations in the flood-affected districts. Meanwhile, families are being evacuated from areas still at risk of further flooding to safer locations.
They are also working with local authorities and residents to locate missing persons and clear roads blocked by floodwaters and debris.
The floodwaters initially flowed through Rasuwa and other districts. Later, they spread further into the lower reaches of the Trishuli and Narayani river systems, causing extensive damage to settlements, roads, bridges, and other infrastructure.

Meanwhile, David Fisher, head of the Nepal delegation of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), said the situation in the areas affected by Wednesday's floods remains "extremely critical."
He told BBC's 5 Live Breakfast that some areas in northern Nepal are now only accessible by helicopter, as bridges and roads have been destroyed by the floods.
He added, "It is very clear to us that there are massive urgent needs for people. Many people had to spend last night under the open sky."
He also said entire villages and market areas have been swept away by the torrents. He expressed fears that the death toll could rise further.
