‘Israel Would Be Wiped Out If I Weren’t Here’: Trump

President Donald Trump recently gave an interview to US news outlet Axios, where he spoke candidly about the world’s most influential leaders, the Iran-Israel war, and other topics. At times he joked, while at other moments he made exaggerated claims about his own power. During the interview, he commented, “If Donald Trump weren’t here, Israel would be wiped off the face of the Earth today.”
Regarding Iran, Trump said, “I had to stop them. Because if they possessed a nuclear bomb, they would undoubtedly use it. And if you want to see destruction, just let them drop a bomb on one or two of their cities. They would blow up Israel. If I weren’t here today, there would be no country called Israel on the face of the Earth. Because I was the one who canceled that nuclear deal made by Barack Obama, which was Iran’s path to obtaining nuclear weapons.”
Trump claimed, “If I hadn’t stopped it, they would have possessed a nuclear bomb five years ago. Within the first week of having the bomb, they would have used it on Israel. If that had happened, Israel wouldn’t exist today—it would have been finished years ago.”
Jokingly, the US President added, “But what surprised me most was that they waited so long. They waited until I returned to power. Of course, they didn’t do it intentionally. They never thought I would come back. Actually, a lot of people didn’t think so. Because they used government power as a weapon against me. But I came back with a huge roar. And I think this comeback is much stronger than before.”
Taking a swipe at former President Biden, Trump said, “Biden was the biggest disaster for senior citizens. Because you media people didn’t tell the public the truth. But the public saw everything with their own eyes. He was a complete disaster. And you know what he did worst? He took inflation to extreme levels. But that wasn’t the biggest damage. Because I inherited all these broken things. Now look at market prices—things are getting cheaper. Oil prices are really coming down significantly.”
“I had to conduct military operations to stop a group of highly volatile but extremely intelligent people. You know the Iranians are very clever people. They have a kind of primitive genius, but they are truly smart,” Trump said.
Regarding the Iranians, Trump commented, “If we hadn’t struck them with B-2 bombers, Israel would have been annihilated today. They had so much enriched uranium that they were just one month away from building a nuclear bomb. It was within their reach. If we hadn’t struck, they could have easily built the bomb. But our B-2 bombers and our skilled pilots executed their mission flawlessly. That mountain-cut nuclear facility’s roof collapsed and was completely leveled to the ground.”
“If we hadn’t struck then, they would have built a nuclear bomb. It would definitely have been used on Israel. They would have even used it on Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, and Bahrain. Because when this war started, my biggest surprise was that missiles almost immediately began flying toward these five other countries as well. I thought, why are they being so foolish? And you know what the result was? Those missile attacks brought these five countries directly into my lap for protection. They have really been excellent partners,” Trump added.
When asked about his relationship with Israel’s Prime Minister, Trump said, “Netanyahu has worked very well with me. But even he would admit that the real gun was in our hands. The key to the entire deal was with us. The B-2 bombers were also ours. If Donald Trump weren’t here, Israel would be wiped off the face of the Earth today.”
