Dhaka has said that the explanation given by India regarding the Delhi airport incident involving Prime Minister Tarique Rahman's advisor Dr. Zahed Ur Rahman, is 'not satisfactory'.
When asked about the comments made by the spokesperson of India's Ministry of External Affairs, the spokesperson for Bangladesh's Ministry of Foreign Affairs told the media that the explanation provided by the Indian side regarding the incident was not satisfactory. The Indian authorities had been duly informed in advance through diplomatic channels that the Prime Minister's advisor would be leading a Bangladesh delegation to the Indian Ocean Rim Association (IORA) meeting.
The spokesperson said, "Despite prior notification on this matter, what happened to him at Delhi airport is unfortunate and regrettable."
Dr. Zahed Ur Rahman was scheduled to lead the Bangladesh delegation to an IORA meeting earlier this month. However, he was prevented from proceeding at Delhi airport.
In response to a question about comments made by India's Ministry of External Affairs regarding minorities in Bangladesh, the Foreign Ministry spokesperson said that Bangladesh believes every state has an equal responsibility to ensure the rights and security of all citizens residing within their respective territories, especially members of minority communities.
The Bangladesh government is committed to ensuring the protection and security of the rights of all citizens, including minority communities.
