Tarique Rahman Joins World Leaders at World Economic Forum

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman participated in the 17th Annual Meeting of the New Champions (AMNC), popularly known as the Summer Davos, hosted by the World Economic Forum (WEF).
Additional Press Secretary Atiqur Rahman Rumon confirmed the matter.
The conference officially started at the Dalian International Conference Center at 10 am local time on Wednesday. Tarique joined fellow leaders including PM Amadou Oury Bah of Guinea, PM Olzhas Bektenov of Kazakhstan, PM Kim Min-seok of South Korea, Prime Minister Nyam- Osoryn Uchral of Mongolia, and PM Milojko Spajić of Montenegro at the gathering.
The event drew more than 1,700 representatives from over 90 countries and regions, spanning the sectors of politics, business, academia, and media.
Observers noted that the Chinese investors and top business leaders attending the forum will gain a comprehensive and direct understanding of Bangladesh’s investment environment, policy incentives, and future prospects.
Prior to the main event, Tarique Rahman attended a plenary session titled “Innovation at Scale” as an invited guest. This session began at 9 am featuring opening remarks from the President and CEO of the World Economic Forum.
Along with the Tarique, Chinese Premier Li Qiang and the PMs of South Korea, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, Montenegro, and Guinea also participated in the session.
On the sidelines of the sessions, Tarique engaged in discussions with various heads of government to strengthen bilateral relations and address matters of mutual interest. The world leaders also took part in a joint photo session during the break.
According to the PM’s Press Wing, this year’s summit focuses on critical global issues, including the global economy, industrial structural shifts, the practical application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and emerging technologies, China’s economic future, youth employment, and climate change.
A central theme of the discussions is bridging the gap between global technological advancements and their broader economic benefits.
