A total of 30 Ministers, State Ministers, and Parliamentary Whips have been given the responsibility of overseeing public activities across 64 districts. Those assigned will monitor law and order, corruption and drug control, good governance, transparency, accountability, and development activities in their respective districts.

Some have been given charge of one district, while others have been assigned for two or three.

The Cabinet Division issued a gazette notification regarding this on Thursday.

The notification mentions that during the previous government's tenure, funds allocated for development in various sectors were looted through widespread corruption. The government has said it is taking such steps to curb these irregularities.

It also says that a portion of the money acquired through looting was smuggled abroad. These funds that remained here have been used for drug-use and peddling, social decay, instability, and actions detrimental to state security.

The notification further states that ensuring sustainable development, good governance, transparency, accountability, and the eradication of corruption is one of the current government's priority responsibilities.

According to Article 55(2) of the Constitution, this responsibility has been delegated under the executive authority of the Republic, by or under the authority of the Prime Minister, the notification added.
