Assistant Inspector General of Prisons (Development) Md Jannat-Ul-Farhad confirmed the matter. Authorities took the action against three metrons and four female guards on charges of negligence of duty.
The suspended personnel are Metrons Laila Anjuman Sumi, Marina, and Rehena, and female prison guards Shaila, Sharmin, Jemi, and Asma Akter.

According to prison sources, 40 female inmates were performing tasks inside the prison on Thursday evening. During this time, a convict named Rimpa, 21, escaped by scaling the boundary wall adjacent to the prison office building.
Authorities confirmed the escape after reviewing CCTV footage.
Rimpa was serving a three-month sentence in a CR case filed at the Dhanmondi Police Station in Dhaka. Following the incident, the prison authorities filed a General Diary (GD) at Konabari Police Station on Friday.
