Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) said rain accompanied by thunder may occur in Dhaka.

BMD confirmed the matter in the weather forecast for Dhaka and its surrounding areas for the six-hour period starting from 7 am Saturday.

According to the forecast, the sky over Dhaka may remain partly cloudy to temporarily cloudy. During the time, there is a possibility of rain or rain with thunder. Winds may blow from the south or south-east at 10 to 15 kilometers per hour. Daytime temperatures are expected to remain nearly unchanged.

At 6 am, the temperature in Dhaka was 28.1 degrees Celsius and the air humidity was 85 percent. Minimum temperature is recorded at 28 degrees Celsius.

In another notification, BMD said storms with speeds of 45 to 60 kilometers per hour may occur in eight regions of the country by noon.

Temporary gusty or stormy winds, along with rain or rain with thunder, may blow from the south and south-east at 45 to 60 kilometers per hour over the regions of Khulna, Barishal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Cumilla, Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar, and Sylhet.

BMD instructed the internal river ports in these areas to display cautionary signal number 1.

Moreover, moderately heavy to heavy rainfall may occur in some parts of the country. While daytime temperatures across the country are expected to remain nearly unchanged, nighttime temperatures may decrease slightly.
