Four people were killed in a head-on collision between a truck and a pickup in Kahaloo, Bogura.

Kahaloo Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Shafiqul Islam confirmed the matter. The accident occurred around 10:30 am on Saturday on the Naogaon-Bogura regional highway in the Kazipara area of the Birkedar Union. One deceased has been identified as Lutfar Rahman.

Police have not yet been able to confirm the identities of the other three victims. All the deceased were the pickup’s driver, helper, and two fish traders.

OC Shafiqul said a pickup arriving from Mymensingh was returning after selling fish in Naogaon. The pickup collided with a loaded truck, while attempting to overtake another vehicle. The front of the pickup was crushed in the impact, and the four people died on the spot.

The truck’s driver and helper fled the scene after the accident.

OC added that police and Bogura Fire Service and Civil Defense personnel arrived at the scene, recovered the bodies, and took them to the police station. Efforts to identify the other three victims are ongoing, and legal action is in progress.
