US Special Envoy for South and Central Asian Affairs Sergio Gor called for increased humanitarian aid for the Rohingyas.
He made these remarks after his visit to the Rohingya refugee camps in Cox’s Bazar on Friday.
Gor said, “Today I visited the Rohingya camps with Ambassador Brent T Christensen. This is the world’s largest refugee camp, where more than one million refugees have taken shelter. US has been providing assistance to the camp and calls upon our partners around the world to increase their amount of support.”
He inspected the refugee camps in Ukhiya and held meetings with Rohingyas and representatives of various organizations. Following the visit, he returned to Dhaka in the evening.
