Stranded Biman flight returns to Dhaka from Rome

The Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight that had been stranded at Rome's Fiumicino Airport due to a technical malfunction has arrived in Dhaka.
The Boeing 777-300ER aircraft landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 12:30 PM on Sunday (August 9).
The matter was confirmed by Bosra Islam, General Manager of Public Relations at Biman Bangladesh Airlines.
According to airline sources, necessary spare parts and a team of engineers were sent from Dhaka to repair the stranded aircraft in Rome. The Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight BG-305, carrying the engineers and equipment, landed at Rome's Fiumicino Airport at 11:16 PM Bangladesh time on Saturday.
Upon arrival in Rome, the engineers began working to resolve the technical fault on the BG-306 aircraft. After the repairs were completed, the aircraft departed for Dhaka.
Earlier, on Friday at around 7:20 AM local time, a mechanical fault was detected during routine refueling. The flight had been stranded at Rome's Fiumicino Airport since then.
The BG-306 flight had departed from Toronto Pearson International Airport in Canada for Dhaka at 5:18 PM local time Thursday. After nearly eight hours of flight, it landed at Rome's Fiumicino Airport at 7:19 AM on Friday. The aircraft was carrying over two hundred and fifty passengers.
After the aircraft was stranded in Rome, Biman Bangladesh Airlines arranged hotel accommodations for the passengers staying there. Passengers were also provided with food and other necessary assistance.
