As the end of the month of Shravan approaches, rain may spread across different parts of the country. Today Sunday, moderate to heavy rain is likely in several areas of the Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram, Mymensingh, Rangpur and Sylhet divisions.

In particular, heavy rainfall may occur in the northern region and the Chattogram Hill Tracts, according to private weather agency Bangladesh Weather Observation Team Limited.

At the same time, scattered rain is forecast in some areas of the Chattogram, Dhaka and Rajshahi divisions. Although the rain may bring temporary relief to some regions, the feeling of humid heat may increase across the country during breaks in rainfall. Daytime and nighttime temperatures are also forecast to rise slightly.

A review of the weather situation shows that the current rain belt is less active. The next rain belt may become active in the third week of August. However, there is a risk of moderate lightning in the northeastern region and the Chattogram Hill Tracts during rainfall.

In such conditions, everyone has been advised to remain in a safe shelter and exercise extra caution when thunder is heard. In addition, mild to moderate gusty winds may occur before or during rainfall. However, there is no risk of hailstorms or Kalbaishakhi storms.

A review of marine weather conditions shows that no low pressure or weather system has formed over the sea, and no warning signal has been issued for the seaports. However, the northern Bay of Bengal may remain somewhat rough.

Weather data from the past 24 hours showed that the highest rainfall in the country, 74 millimeters, was recorded in Bhola. During this period, the country’s highest temperature was recorded in Mymensingh at 35.50 degrees Celsius, while the lowest temperature was recorded in Kumarkhali at 24.20 degrees Celsius.

The sun rose in Dhaka at 5:31 am today and will set at 6:36 pm.
