United Insurance share price jumps 63%

The share price of United Insurance, listed on the stock market, has increased by 63% over the past two months. Following this abnormal price surge, the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) sought an explanation from the company, but no undisclosed price-sensitive information (PSI) was found.
According to DSE sources, the share price of United Insurance was Tk 41.50 on June 1. It rose to Tk 67.60 on August 6. This means the price increased by Tk 26.10, or roughly 63%, in just two months.
In response to the DSE's query, the company said that it has no undisclosed price-sensitive information behind this price rise. Consequently, the company is not aware of any specific reason for the surge.
Meanwhile, the company's published financial reports show that its earnings per share (EPS) increased by 20% in the first six months (January–June) of the current fiscal year. During this period, the company's EPS stood at Tk 1.99, compared to Tk 1.66 in the same period of the previous year.
In the second quarter (April–June), the company's EPS was Tk 1.75, compared to Tk 1.21 in the same quarter last year. This represents a profit increase of approximately 45% in this quarter.
As of June 30, 2026, the company's net asset value per share (NAVPS) stood at Tk 34.76.
According to market insiders, although the company's profit has increased, the rate of share price growth is much higher. Therefore, before investing in such shares, investors should consider the company's fundamentals and associated risks before making any decisions.
