Classes for first-year undergraduate students admitted for the 2025-26 academic session at the affiliated colleges of Dhaka Central University (DCU) will commence on Tuesday, September 22.

The news was confirmed via a notification issued yesterday (Wednesday) by the DCU Registrar's Office.

The notification said that classes for first-year Bachelor (Honours) students admitted to various departments under the Arts & Social Sciences, Science, and Business Education units at DCU's affiliated colleges will now begin on September 22, instead of the previously scheduled date of September 6.

The notification was issued by the university's Registrar, Md. Shahidur Rahman, on the instructions of the Vice-Chancellor.

Earlier, classes for the freshers of the 2025-26 academic session were scheduled to start on September 6, but the decision was postponed due to administrative reasons. Under the new decision, their academic activities will officially commence from September 22.

The university administration's decision is set to end the long wait for first-year students. With the start of classes for new students, the academic activities of the new session at Dhaka Central University's affiliated colleges will begin in a more visible manner.
