Iran's ambassador to the United Nations, Amir Saeed Iravani, has expressed hope that ongoing discussions with the United States will reach a final decision by the end of June. He said that both countries are currently exchanging views and proposals aimed at reaching a treaty, with mediation from Pakistan.
In response to a question from the Associated Press (AP) after addressing a United Nations Security Council meeting in New York on Monday, the Iranian ambassador said, "We have not yet received any final documents. However, we are striving to obtain them. "When asked whether the discussions would reach a conclusive outcome or agreement by the end of June, he replied, "We certainly hope so."
Ambassador Amir Saeed Iravani indicated that this potential ceasefire would be comprehensive, applicable to the entire region, including Lebanon, although Israel has rejected this condition. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced on Monday a decision not to carry out any new attacks on Iran, but has affirmed that Israeli forces will continue their operations against the armed group Hezbollah in Lebanon.
