Whenever the World Cup arrives, an incredible frenzy over football seems to take over the entire country. The whole nation gets caught up in debates over Brazil and Argentina. Yet, despite such immense passion, the country has never been able to play in the World Cup. Bangladesh coach Thomas Dooley has now shared his plans for getting the Bangladesh national team to the World Cup.
On his social media, Dooley spoke about the World Cup and Bangladesh's dreams. He expressed his admiration for the country's football fever, saying, "I was amazed by the Bangladeshi people's madness for the World Cup. Most spectators here support Brazil and Argentina. In this edition, many smaller teams played. My question is, when will Bangladesh play in the World Cup?"
Dooley answered his own question, saying, "Perhaps we won't be able to play in the next World Cup. Maybe it will take 10, 15, or 20 years. Everything is possible! But for that, we need to move forward on the right path. We need to develop good young footballers. Perhaps some high-quality players will also come from abroad. We must improve our ranking. Then, someday in the future, we too will be able to play in the World Cup. Until then, we have a lot of work ahead of us."
