To some, five-day Test cricket feels dull—long, slow, and lacking constant excitement. Much like classical music, which is deeply appreciated by connoisseurs but often sounds babel for the general audience, Test cricket is classical and timeless. Even in the age of the fleeting thrills of T20 cricket, the romance of Test cricket remains eternal.
A thrilling, edge-of-the-seat finish could be on the cards on the fifth day of the Dhaka Test. In their second innings, Bangladesh national cricket team were bowled out for 240 for 9 declared. Adding the 27-run lead from the first innings, Bangladesh set Pakistan national cricket team a target of 268 runs for victory.
In the fourth innings, Pakistan will have at least 76 overs to bat. Within that time, Bangladesh must take all 10 wickets to seal a memorable win.
By the lunch break on the fifth day, Pakistan had scored 6 runs for the loss of 1 wicket in 4 overs. Imam-ul-Haq was caught by Litton Das off the bowling of Taskin Ahmed. Pakistan now need another 262 runs to win, with 9 wickets still in hand.
