Arjun Bijlani upset over dating rumors with Mouni Roy

Mouni Roy and Arjun Bijlani
Actress Mouni Roy and actor Arjun Bijlani are one of Indian television’s most beloved on-screen pairs. The duo won viewers’ hearts with the popular series Naagin. Off-screen, they have shared a friendship spanning more than 15 years.
However, after the two were spotted leaving a dinner party together recently, social media was flooded with dating rumors. Arjun Bijlani has now expressed his anger at paparazzi and media outlets for labeling their long-standing friendship as a romance in pursuit of views and cheap clicks.
Expressing his frustration on social media, Arjun Bijlani wrote: “Dear clickbait pages, a 15-year-old friendship doesn’t suddenly turn into a romance just because of a juicy headline on a gossip page! People stand by their friends during difficult times and moments of crisis. There is no need to find a romantic angle in every friendship just to get views. It would have been better if you had checked the facts before spreading the news. Let’s be a little more responsible about what we are putting out there.”
He further added that people should stop making others’ personal lives miserable and spreading misinformation through sensational captions just for views. According to him, responsible journalism earns real respect, not cheap clickbait.
Popular actress Krystle D’Souza also agreed with Arjun’s post, commenting, “What nonsense is this! These days, people are posting whatever they want just for views.”
Arjun and Mouni have known each other for more than 15 years. In 2015, they gained immense popularity by playing Ritik and Shivanya in Ekta Kapoor’s hit series Naagin.
Although fans adored their on-screen chemistry, the two have always maintained that they are “best friends” in real life. Despite occasional disagreements caused by their busy shooting schedules, their off-screen bond has always remained strong.
The dating rumors surfaced shortly after Mouni Roy announced her divorce from her husband, Suraj Nambiar.
On May 14, Mouni and Suraj said in a joint statement that they were separating by mutual consent and requested that people refrain from unnecessary discussion about their private lives during this difficult time. Mouni and Suraj got married in Goa on Jan. 27, 2022, in both Bengali and Malayali traditions.
During this difficult period following her separation from her husband, Arjun had simply stood by Mouni as a friend. However, the media’s attempt to portray it as a romance has left the actor deeply upset.
