LGRD Minister Recovering After Heat Collapse

BNP Secretary General and LGRD Minister Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir is recovering after suddenly collapsing from extreme heat midday while attending a program in Dhaka.
His Assistant Private Secretary (APS) Younus Ali confirmed the matter. Fakhrul also attended a cabinet meeting held at the Secretariat on Thursday.
Fakhrul is scheduled to attend a memorial service for former vice-chancellor of University of Dhaka (DU) Emajuddin Ahmed at the National Press Club on Friday.
BNP Media Cell member Shairul Kabir Khan told the media, “He was present as the chief guest at the inauguration ceremony of the Rathjatra organized by the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) in Swamibagh, Dhaka.
“Towards the end of his speech, he suddenly fell ill in the intense heat. He was later rushed home. He rested for some time as per the doctor’s advice.”
