RAB arrests drug trafficker with 264 kg cannabis

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested a drug trafficker with 264 kilograms of cannabis in Kasba, Brahmanbaria on Friday.
Additional Superintendent of Police KM Shahidul Islam Sohag confirmed the matter in a press release. The arrested individual was identified as Rasel Mia alias Mahin, 20.
The press release said acting on a tip-off, a raid was carried out at an abandoned tin-shed house. Upon sensing the presence of RAB, two drug traffickers attempted to flee, resulting in the capture of one while the other escaped.
RAB seized 264 kilograms of cannabis concealed in eight jute sacks from a hole in the ground. During initial interrogation, Rasel said, “They had collected cannabis from the border area and stored it for selling it in various parts of the country.”
RAB said a case has been filed against the arrested and fugitive suspects under the Narcotics Control Act.
