Two Killed, 20 Injured in Habiganj Bus Collision

Two people were killed and at least 20 others were injured in a collision between two buses on the Dhaka-Sylhet highway in Bahubal, Habiganj.
Shayestaganj Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Shuvoranjan Chakma confirmed the matter around 5 am on Wednesday.
The deceased bus driver has been identified as Tajul Islam, 50. An unidentified passenger was rescued and transported to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital, where he died
According to reports, the collision involved a Unique Paribahan bus traveling from Sylhet to Dhaka and a Lucky Paribahan bus heading from Dhaka to Sylhet amid heavy rain. The impact left both vehicles severely mangled.
OC Shuvoranjan said, "Upon receiving news of the accident, police went to the scene and recovered one body and around 20 injured individuals."
Traffic on the highway was suspended for half an hour following the crash. Police and Fire Service personnel completed rescue operations and restored the flow of traffic.
The body of the bus driver and those injured have been sent to the Bahubal Upazila Health Complex. The body of the other deceased passenger is in Sylhet. The two buses are kept in the highway police station.
