Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) said a low-pressure area has formed in the Bay of Bengal and advised four maritime ports to hoist local cautionary signal number 3.
According to a forecast signed by Meteorologist Kh Hafizur Rahman on Thursday, the low-pressure system developed over the Northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining areas. Under its influence, squally winds may blow over the seaports, the North Bay of Bengal, and adjoining coastal areas of Bangladesh.
The forecast instructed Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla, and Payra maritime ports to display local cautionary signal number 3. Authorities advised fishing boats and trawlers operating in the North Bay of Bengal to proceed close to the coast and navigate with caution until further notice.
