The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Dhaka, has issued new instructions in connection with the ongoing HSC and equivalent examinations 2026. To reduce the hardship faced by guardians of examinees, examination centres have been directed to ensure waiting sheds and seating arrangements outside the centres. At the same time, instructions have been given to maintain discipline in areas outside the examination centres.
The directive was issued through an urgent notice signed on July 2 by Professor Jasmin Taslima Banu, Controller of Examinations of the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Dhaka. All examination centres under the board have been asked to take necessary measures.
According to the notice, inspections of various centres found that after examinees enter the centres, guardians often wait outside for long periods. However, most centres lack designated sheds or seating arrangements for them, leaving guardians exposed to heat, rain and adverse weather conditions.
The board said that the prolonged presence of guardians outside many centres is causing crowding and disorder, increasing public inconvenience. Therefore, authorities have been instructed to take steps to ensure orderly movement and discipline outside the examination centres.
The notice also said that an adequate number of Rover Scouts, Girl Guides and BNCC members should be deployed to maintain discipline.
The directive has been sent to officers-in-charge of all centres under the Dhaka Education Board. Copies have also been sent to deputy commissioners, upazila nirbahi officers, district education officers and relevant officials of the Ministry of Education.
The HSC and equivalent examinations 2026 began across the country on July 2.
