Islami Bank and BPDB Sign Agreement
- Bank Channels to Offer Prepaid Meter Recharge Services

Islami Bank Bangladesh PLC and the Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB) have signed a corporate agreement to expand customer services by enabling prepaid electricity meter recharge through the bank’s nationwide channels.
Under the agreement, BPDB customers will gradually be able to recharge their prepaid electricity meters through all Islami Bank branches, sub-branches, agent outlets, as well as the bank’s Selfin, iSmart, and mCash mobile applications.
The signing ceremony was held Thursday at BPDB headquarters in Bidyut Bhaban in the capital.
Mohammad Nurul Absar, General Manager (Commercial Operations) of the Bangladesh Power Development Board, attended the event as the chief guest.
Dr. M. Kamal Uddin Jasim, Additional Managing Director of Islami Bank Bangladesh PLC, and Md. Ziaur Rahman, Director of the Prepaid Metering System Department at BPDB, signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organizations.
The event was also attended by Islami Bank Executive Vice President Md. Majnuzzaman, Assistant Vice President A.N.M. Tawhidul Islam, and other senior officials from both organizations.
