RAB arrests robbery convict after 30 years on run

RAB arrested a robbery convict from Bakerganj, Barishal, on Tuesday after he spent nearly 30 years on the run to evade a seven-year prison sentence.
RAB-8 Media Officer Lt Commander Md Shahriar Rifat Ovi confirmed the matter. The arrestee has been identified as Faruk Molla.
According to Barishal RAB-8, court sentenced Faruk to seven years of imprisonment and imposed a Tk 10,000 fine in a robbery case filed at Bakerganj Police Station in 1992. He went into hiding to avoid serving the sentence.
Then RAB-8 located Faruk and arrested him in Jatrabari, Dhaka, with assistance from RAB-10.
Lt Commander Ovi said RAB handed Faruk over to South Keraniganj Police Station in Dhaka for legal action.
