2 children die with measles symptoms in Sylhet

Two children died with symptoms of measles within 24 hours in the Sylhet division, bringing the death toll to 138.
Sylhet Health Department Assistant Director Mohammad Nure Alam Shamim confirmed the matter on Tuesday. During the same period, nine new cases were confirmed, and 115 individuals were hospitalized as suspected measles patients.
According to the report, 988 people have been diagnosed with measles in the Sylhet division from 1 January to 18 August.
Health department data said 132 people have died from suspected measles in the Sylhet division so far, with 48 deaths in Sylhet, 18 in Habiganj, 12 in Moulvibazar, and 54 in Sunamganj.
Meanwhile, six deaths have been confirmed as being caused by measles, including four in Sylhet, one in Moulvibazar, and one in Sunamganj. This brings the total number of deaths from both suspected and confirmed measles in the Sylhet division to 138.
