Contract tenure of Cabinet Secy, senior Secy of ministry of public administration extended
Cabinet Secretary Nasimul Goni and Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration Ehsanul Hoque.
The contract tenure of the Cabinet Secretary and the Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration is being extended.
Cabinet Secretary Nasimul Gani and Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration Md. Ehsanul Hoque are having their contractual appointments extended.
Today, Monday, a government source confirmed this information to Agamir Somoy.
Earlier, on 16 February 2026, Nasimul Gani was awarded a contractual appointment as Cabinet Secretary.
Following the fall of the Awami League government on 5 August 2024, he was appointed on contract basis as Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs on 22 December of the same year.
He is an officer of the 1982 BCS Administration Cadre. In 2009, he was made an officer on special duty (OSD) at the Ministry of Public Administration. After four years as OSD, he was retired from service in 2013.
On the other hand, Md. Ehsanul Hoque was appointed on contract as Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration on 12 October 2025. Prior to that, he was Senior Secretary of the Road Transport and Highways Division.
Md. Ehsanul Hoque is an officer of the 1982 BCS (Administration) Cadre. In a career spanning over four decades, he has served in various administrative and leadership positions, including Assistant Commissioner, Upazila Magistrate, Metropolitan Magistrate, Upazila Executive Officer, First Class Magistrate, Additional District Magistrate of Bagerhat, and District Magistrate and District Commissioner (DC) of Jhalakathi district.
Additionally, he has served as Chairman of the Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) and Bangladesh Tourism Corporation, and as Director General at the Office of the Prime Minister and Chief Advisor.
