India for expanding, diversifying trade with Iran: Modi To Pezeshkian

On the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation summit in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi held separate bilateral talks with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan to discuss expanding regional cooperation, trade, and diplomatic ties.

During his meeting with President Pezeshkian, Prime Minister Modi reaffirmed India's commitment to strengthening its long-standing partnership with Iran across multiple sectors. He emphasized India's desire to broaden and diversify the bilateral trade basket in the coming years. The two leaders also discussed the current security situation in West Asia, with Modi assuring that India will continue supporting all efforts aimed at establishing lasting peace in the region.

In a separate discussion with Prime Minister Pashinyan, Modi highlighted the growing collaboration between India and Armenia. He noted that cooperation between the two nations is set to expand significantly across several areas, including defense, information technology, space, education, and pharmaceuticals, alongside a mutual commitment to deepening trade and investment linkages moving forward.
