Singapore has set a new record in tourism revenue in 2025. Last year, the country earned a record 32.8 billion Singapore dollars (approximately 25.9 billion US dollars) from the tourism sector.
The information was shared on Friday by Singapore’s Minister for Trade Relations, Grace Fu. In 2024, tourism revenue stood at 29.8 billion Singapore dollars.
To sustain this growth momentum, Minister Grace Fu announced an additional allocation of 740 million Singapore dollars to the Tourism Development Fund for the next five years.
The minister said that although the performance in 2025 is encouraging, there is no room for complacency. The energy crisis in the Middle East and global economic instability could have a negative impact on tourist spending.
Under the Tourism 2040 project, the Singapore government has set a target to increase annual tourism revenue to 47–50 billion dollars by 2040.
Singapore Tourism Board (STB) Chief Executive Melissa Ow said that Singapore welcomed 16.9 million tourists in 2025.
“Last year, a record nearly 70 million passengers traveled through Changi Airport. In addition, more than 2 million passengers traveled by cruise,” the STB chief executive added.
