Pakistan has claimed that they killed 26 “terrorist” in an attack on alleged hideouts along the Afghanistan border.
Information Minister Attaullah Tarar said on social media platform X on Wednesday that, following recent militant incidents in Pakistan, precise and planned strikes were carried out on secret hideouts and safe havens of the planners and masterminds of Fitna-al-Khawarij in the Afghanistan border area. He claimed that 26 India-backed Khawarij were killed in the operation.
The minister further stated that, based on credible intelligence, the strikes were conducted with high precision, targeting concealed locations.
According to him, training centers, hideouts, ammunition depots, and other facilities linked to commanders Alim Khan Khushali and Akhtar Muhammad Jani Khel were completely destroyed.
“Fitna-al-Khawarij” is a term used by the Pakistani state to refer to the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).
Meanwhile, Afghan authorities have claimed that at least 13 people were killed in new Pakistani airstrikes in Afghanistan. The Taliban spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid said the strikes targeted the Khost, Kunar, and Paktika provinces. Among the dead were 11 children, one woman, and one elderly person, according to his statement.
