Elon Musk has made history as the world’s first trillionaire. Following the listing of SpaceX on the stock market on Friday, his total net worth surpassed the milestone of $1.1 trillion. In Bangladeshi currency, this amount is around Tk134.20 lakh crore. This is more than 14 times the proposed national budget of Bangladesh for the 2026-27 fiscal year.
The size of Bangladesh’s proposed national budget for the 2026-27 fiscal year has been set at Tk9.38 lakh crore. Comparing this with the wealth of the world’s top tech entrepreneurs and the income and market value of major tech firms offers a new perspective on the scale of this budget.
Following SpaceX’s stock market debut, the company’s market value reached nearly $2 trillion. Musk holds a 38 percent stake in the organisation. Moreover, he has partnerships in firms such as the electric vehicle manufacturer Tesla, the artificial intelligence firm xAI, X, The Boring Company, and Neuralink.
Meanwhile, the current wealth of Google co-founder Larry Page is around $294.1 billion. In Bangladeshi currency, its value is about Tk36.17 lakh crore. Consequently, Musk’s wealth is about 3.4 times greater than that of Larry Page.
Another top billionaire in the tech sector and the founder of Amazon, Jeff Bezos, currently possesses wealth amounting to around $251.5 billion. In Bangladeshi currency, this is about Tk30,93,450 crore. That is to say, Bezos’s wealth is also more than three times the national budget of Bangladesh.
Beyond individual wealth, the income of tech organisations is also astonishing. According to the Forbes Global 2000 list, Apple’s annual revenue in 2025 was $395.8 billion. In Bangladeshi currency, this is around Tk48,68,340 crore. Thus, in a single year, Apple’s revenue was more than five times the proposed national budget of Bangladesh.
This immense wealth and income in the tech world highlight the influence of major tech firms on the global economy. It also brings forward a different perspective by comparing the size of Bangladesh’s national budget with the financial power of the global tech sector.
The architects of the tech world Larry Page founded Google with Sergey Brin in 1998. Together, they created the Google PageRank algorithm, which serves as the foundation for the world’s most popular search engine to this day. Currently, he serves as a board member and controlling shareholder of Alphabet.
On the other hand, Musk has turned SpaceX, established in 2002, into one of the world’s most valuable private space technology organisations. Due to his investments and ownership in SpaceX, Tesla, xAI, and other tech firms, he has achieved the unique distinction of becoming the world’s first trillionaire.

After becoming the CEO of Tesla in 2008, Musk played a crucial role in bringing electric vehicles into the mainstream. According to analysts, Tesla’s success has encouraged car manufacturers worldwide to lean towards electric vehicles.
In addition to Tesla and SpaceX, Musk is a co-founder of several organisations, including The Boring Company and Neuralink. Many investors believe he could achieve great success in the fields of space technology and artificial intelligence as well. Market analysts suggest that his organisations are receiving high valuations due to confidence in Musk’s personal leadership and future plans. They refer to this trend as the “Elon Musk Premium”.
