Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has launched a missile attack targeting hangars at a US F-35 airbase in Jordan.
In a statement early Wednesday morning, the IRGC announced that its air force had fired long-range missiles at an airbase in Jordan where US military personnel are stationed.
In the statement, the IRGC claimed that their missiles struck and destroyed four key targets at the base, including the hangar housing F-35 fighter jets and a main command and control center.
Iran's IRGC described this missile attack as the final phase of a large-scale retaliatory operation.
They claimed that under this operation, they struck 21 targets across various US air and naval bases in the region, in addition to shooting down a US MQ-9 drone in Iranian airspace.
At the end of their statement, the IRGC issued a warning stating that their forces are fully prepared to deliver a definitive response to any future US military action, and that Washington must bear full responsibility for the consequences if the situation escalates further.
Earlier, the IRGC had claimed to have launched retaliatory strikes on two US military bases located in Kuwait and Bahrain in response to US airstrikes.
A statement published by Iran's semi-official Tasnim News Agency, quoting the IRGC, said, "Members of the IRGC Navy launched a drone strike targeting the US Fifth Fleet in Bahrain around 2:30 AM."
Meanwhile, the Kuwaiti Army's General Staff office reported that on Wednesday morning, Kuwait's air defense systems were intercepting missiles launched from Iranian airspace.
