At least 51 people, including two healthcare workers, were killed in Israeli attacks across Lebanon over the past 24 hours, according to the Lebanese Ministry of Public Health. The information was reported by Qatar-based broadcaster Al Jazeera (Al Jazeera).
In a statement, the ministry said Israeli strikes directly targeted two health facilities in the towns of Qalawiya and Tibnin in the Bint Jbeil district. The ministry accused Israel of continuing to violate international law and humanitarian principles. The attacks occurred in the third week of a ceasefire brokered by the United States.
According to the ministry, since a new military operation began on March 2, at least 2,846 people have been killed nationwide. The United Nations said that during this period, more than 130 Israeli attacks killed at least 103 Lebanese healthcare workers and injured at least 230 others.
Ali Safiuddin, head of civil defense in the southern Lebanese city of Tyre, said: “We are under threat every day, every second. We think about whether we will live or die. We know that by coming here to work, we have sacrificed our lives. We have lost many people, and now it feels as though we ourselves are lost.”
More than 1.2 million Lebanese have been displaced by Israeli attacks since March 2. Although a ceasefire came into effect on April 16, the report noted that attacks have intensified since then.
