The frustration has begun for Brazil. The five-time world champions drew 1-1 with Morocco. Although they played poorly before the break, Carlo Ancelotti's side managed to get themselves somewhat organized afterward. But without a win, the Brazilians are far from satisfied.
Ancelotti understands this well. After the match, he acknowledged his team's mistakes. He said, "The team did not play well in the first half. They were suffering from nervous pressure. We committed unnecessary fouls. If the team doesn't play well, we must accept the criticism."
Ibañez was erratic. He couldn't read Morocco's attacks. Raphinha, returning from injury, was disappointing. In midfield, Bruno Guimarães didn't play badly; he provided the assist for Vinícius's goal. But Paquetá was a shadow of himself.
After the match, Ancelotti defended everyone. "I don't criticize any player individually," he said. "The criticism is for the whole team, because the team didn't play well before the break."
Ancelotti is not giving up hope after the draw. Instead, he reminded everyone that the result of the first match doesn't win the World Cup. He said, "We played well after the break. I accept this result, which is not bad at all. We will fight harder in the next match. You can't win the World Cup in the first match. We can't lose confidence. We played well after the break."
