Brazil drew a match they were on the verge of losing against Morocco. In their first match of Group C, Brazil drew 1-1, failing to satisfy their fans. In Goal.com's ratings, here's how the Brazilian footballers scored out of 10:
Coach: Carlo Ancelotti — 5/10
The World Cup debut didn't go very well for "Don Carlo." His team couldn't win against Morocco. His lineup and tactics have also faced criticism. As a coach, he received a 5.
Alisson — 6/10
There was no way for Alisson to stop Morocco's goal. The Brazilian goalkeeper made some great saves during the match and received a 6 out of 10.
Roger Ibañez — 4/10
He repeatedly failed to stand as a shield against Morocco's attacks, looking helpless. He had 31 touches of the ball and made a mistake in one of his two dribbles. The defender failed in 5 out of 9 ground duels. Roger Ibañez received only a 4.
Marquinhos — 5/10
The Brazil captain wasn't anywhere near his best form. Six of his seven long passes found their target accurately, and he made 3 headed clearances. Marquinhos was not in position at the time of Morocco's goal. He received a 5 out of 10.
Gabriel Magalhães — 6/10
He was equally responsible for Morocco's goal. Afterwards, however, he played somewhat better. Gabriel Magalhães contributed 9 clearances, blocks, and tackles combined in defense. He received a 6 out of 10.
Douglas Santos — 5/10
He could only recover the ball six times throughout the entire match. He won 7 out of 9 ground duels. The 32-year-old Santos did not look confident at all. The signs of age were clear. He received only a 5 out of 10.
Casemiro — 4/10
The faith placed in him was immense. However, Casemiro, the team's most experienced footballer, deeply disappointed the fans. He couldn't keep up with the pace of the game, received a yellow card before halftime, and was then substituted off during the break. He received only a 4 out of 10.
Bruno Guimarães — 6/10
Among the midfield pair, Guimarães was comparatively better. He provided the assist for Vini's goal and fought for the ball across large areas of the pitch. Guimarães received a 6.
Lucas Paquetá — 5/10
He was nowhere to be found on the pitch for most of the first half. Lucas Paquetá showed some glimpses of brilliance at the very end. Had the Moroccan goalkeeper not made a great save, he might have even scored. He received a 5.
Raphinha — 6/10
He made quite a few mistakes in ball control during the first half. He created some chances in the second half. However, overall, that devastating version of Raphinha from Barcelona was nowhere to be found on the pitch. He jointly created the most chances in the match (3) and also had five touches inside the opponent's box. He received a 6.
Igor Thiago — 6/10
He couldn't do much of note on the field. He also missed a great goal-scoring opportunity. This forward received a 6.
Vinícius Júnior — 8/10
He was Brazil's best player against Morocco. He scored a wonderful goal. He had a joint-highest 5 touches inside the Moroccan box. Vini received the highest rating of 8.
Danilo — 6/10
Fabinho — 6/10
Matheus Cunha — 6/10
Luiz Henrique — 5/10
