Nahida Brishti, a missing student of the University of South Florida (USF) in the United States, has passed away.
Her brother, Zahid Hasan Pranto, confirmed the news on Saturday morning. Writing on Facebook, Pranto stated, "My sister is no longer with us."
Speaking to Agamir Somoy, Pranto explained that the police had confirmed the death to the family. Although her body has not yet been recovered, authorities expressed uncertainty regarding whether it would ever be found.
According to police reports, forensic analysis of blood samples discovered at a suspect's residence confirmed that Brishti is deceased.
Earlier, on Friday morning local time, the body of another missing student, Jamil Limon, was recovered from the Howard Frankland Bridge area in Florida.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, the state's primary law enforcement agency, said, Jamil's body was found based on information provided by his roommate, Hisham Saleh Abugharbieh.
The two Bangladeshi students, Jamil and Brishti, had been missing since April 16. After failing to locate them, a family friend informed the authorities on April 17, leading to the filing of two separate missing person reports and the commencement of an investigation.
Jamil was pursuing studies in Geography, Environmental Science, and Policy, while Brishti was a PhD student in Chemical Engineering at the University of South Florida.

Limon’s roommate Hisham Saleh Abugharbeih, 26, was taken into custody at his family’s home nearby on preliminary charges that include unlawfully moving a dead body, failure to report a death, tampering with evidence, false imprisonment and battery. He was expected to make a first appearance in court Saturday morning.
“We are still actively searching for Nahida,” Maurer said, appealing to the public to share any useful information. Law enforcement dive teams were searching the bay near the bridge as part of those efforts, the sheriff’s office said.
