Star Cineplex's 'Summer Bangla Hit Fest' Begins June 19

A week-long special event for Bengali film lovers, 'Summer Bangla Hit Fest,' is starting on June 19. This festival at Star Cineplex will feature four recent acclaimed Bengali films: 'Barbad,' 'Tandab,' 'Utshab,' and 'Bonolata Express.'
The films will be shown from June 19 to 25 across all Star Cineplex branches nationwide. Audiences can enjoy the festival films at all branches, including Bashundhara City, Simanta Sambhar, and SKS Tower. Advance tickets are available at Cineplex counters and on the official website.
Directed by Mehedi Hasan Hridoy, 'Barbad' features Shakib Khan and Idhika Pal. The film, filled with action and gripping suspense, has received an overwhelming response from audiences since its release.
'Tandab,' directed by Raihan Rafi, stars Shakib Khan, Jaya Ahsan, Afran Nisho, Sabila Nur, and Siam Ahmed. Built on a story of psychological conflict and revenge, the film has reportedly met audience expectations.
The festival will also screen 'Utshab' and 'Bonolata Express,' both directed by Tanim Noor. 'Utshab' features Jahid Hasan, Chanchal Chowdhury, Jaya Ahsan, Api Karim, Afsana Mimi, Tariq Anam Khan, Azad Abul Kalam, Intekhab Dinar, Sunerah Binte Kamal, Soumya Jyoti, and Sadiya Ayman. Set against the backdrop of the 1990s, this family drama has earned audience praise.
'Bonolata Express,' based on Humayun Ahmed's novel 'Kichhukshan,' stars Chanchal Chowdhury, Mosharraf Karim, Shariful Raj, Mom, Badhon, and Sabila Nur. It is among the most successful Bengali films of recent times.
Star Cineplex authorities have stated that this initiative is to honor the growing interest and love of audiences for Bengali cinema. The active participation of audiences in the country's film industry's new journey has given them hope. In that continuity, this festival has been organized with the goal of connecting more people with Bengali cinema.
Mesbah Uddin Ahmed, Media Head of Star Cineplex, said, "Audience interest in the country's films is steadily increasing, and in recent years, several Bengali films have achieved notable success." He added that many people are now coming to theaters with their families, which carries a positive message for the country's film industry.
He further said, "It is from audience interest that the 'Summer Bangla Hit Fest' has been organized. This festival will not only create an opportunity for quality entertainment for viewers but will also further strengthen the ongoing momentum of domestic cinema."
He also expressed hope that four films from different genres will attract audiences of all ages to theaters.
