Actress Toma Mirza joins bank job

Toma Mirza

National Film Award winning actress Toma Mirza has joined the banking profession alongside her acting career. For nearly three months, she has been working as an Assistant Vice President (AVP) in the Brand Communication department of AB Bank, one of the country’s leading private banks. However, despite taking up the new profession, the actress is not leaving acting.

Toma herself announced the news of her new profession on social media. She wrote, “I am going to share a new chapter of my life with you. Before that, let me say that acting is my first love and the place that gives me the most joy. I am here, I will remain here, and inshallah, I will continue to do even better work in the future.”

Speaking about joining the banking profession, Toma said, “Now let me tell you about the new experience. A new identity has recently been added to my life outside my acting career. And that is that I have joined the Brand Communication department of AB Bank, one of the country’s leading private banks. From now on, alongside acting, I will also try to fulfill my responsibilities in this new profession with dedication. Keep me in your love and prayers, as always.”

Toma Mirza said acting remains her first passion and love. Therefore, she has no plans to step away from acting. She also said the bank authorities are supportive of her acting career.

Regarding continuing to act, Toma said, “Acting is my first passion and love. I will always continue working here. The bank authorities are supportive of my acting. So there is no problem with continuing to act.”

Toma drew viewers’ attention by acting opposite Afran Nisho in the films “Surongo” and “Dagi.” Although she is now seen less frequently in films, she is choosing her projects carefully. According to the actress, she acts in one or two films a year.

Toma sees joining the new profession as a new experience in her life. She said, “I carefully choose one or two films a year. Having this opportunity to explore other things in the rest of my life is great. I want to make use of this opportunity and gain experience.”

Alongside the big screen, Toma Mirza has also received praise for her work in OTT productions. Her performances in “Janowar,” “Khachar Bhitor Ochin Pakhi” and “Friday” have drawn attention from viewers.

Meanwhile, Toma has new work coming up in acting. She will soon begin work on the film “Khalnayak,” directed by Vicky Zahed. Afran Nisho will star opposite her in the film.

Toma Mirza made her film debut in 2010 with “Bolo Na Tumi Amar,” directed by MB Manik. She later gained attention by playing the lead role in “O Amar Desher Mati,” directed by Ananta Hira. In 2015, she won the National Film Award for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in “Nodijon,” directed by Shahnewaz Kakoli.
