Moving bus catches fire in Mirpur

A passenger bus has caught fire in the Mirpur-11 area of the capital. The Fire Service received news of the blaze involving a Shikar Paribahan bus opposite of Jamjam Tower at 7:12 PM on Saturday.
Duty Officer Zubayer Hossain from the Fire Service control room confirmed the incident to the Agamir Somoy.
He said that upon receiving information about the bus fire, two Fire Service units rushed to the spot. The fire was brought under control shortly after through their efforts. The bus caught fire while in motion.
However, the fire official could not immediately provide information regarding any casualties or the exact cause of the fire.
Earlier on Friday night, around 9:30 PM, a passenger bus caught fire in front of the Kafrul Police Station in the capital.
That fire, which broke out in a bus parked in front of the police station, was extinguished with the assistance of locals, according to Kafrul Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Zohirul Islam.
