Prime Minister drives two hundred kilometers in Cox's Bazar

Tarique Rahman drove 197 kilometers - collected

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman drove nearly two hundred (197 kilometers) kilometers in Cox's Bazar. During his visit to Cox's Bazar yesterday, Saturday, the Prime Minister drove car himself. This information was provided by his Additional Press Secretary, Atiqur Rahman Rumon.

Rumon said, "The Prime Minister landed at Cox's Bazar airport on Saturday and drove the car himself. He drove 197 kilometers, touring around, and returned to the airport at night, driving himself. In the front seat of the Prime Minister's car sat Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed. In the back seat sat the Prime Minister's consort, Dr. Zubaida Rahman, and the Home Minister's wife, Hasina Ahmed."

The Additional Press Secretary said, "The Prime Minister went to every venue and inaugurated programs. He delivered speeches to the local people. Amidst rain, he inaugurated the re-excavation of the Patlikhal canal by wielding a shovel himself. Then, he initiated a tree plantation program. He participated in public rallies and gatherings with dignitaries. You have seen how swarms of people lined both sides of the roads to see the Prime Minister, and the Prime Minister himself waved his hand to greet them."

The Prime Minister arrived in Cox's Bazar on Saturday morning on a Biman flight. After visiting various spots in Cox's Bazar, including the re-excavation of the Patli Canal, Dulahazara, Malumghat, Pekua, Matamuhuri, Chakaria, and the Marine Drive road, the Prime Minister returned to the airport at 12:15 AM.

Tarique Rahman returned to the country on December 25, 2025, after a long 17 years of exile in London. After assuming the office of Prime Minister, the head of government has driven a car on various occasions. However, this is the first time the PM has driven such a long distance.
